A Test System Is a Relationship, Not a Purchase: Microsys Service & Support

A conformance-of-production line lives or dies on the test system at the end of it. When that system is the gate for releasing safety-critical airbag, inflator, or pretensioner parts, its condition is not a maintenance footnote — it is a production dependency. Microsys builds its service and support model around exactly that reality: not a warranty that runs out, but a long-term partnership designed to keep your system accurate, current, and running, wherever in the world it sits. It is an approach refined over more than 30 years and hundreds of installations since 1992.

Calibration that keeps the gate trustworthy

An out-of-spec test system does not announce itself — it simply reports the wrong numbers, quietly. That is why every Microsys system is calibrated before it leaves the factory or on-site after installation, and why that calibration is renewed annually. Microsys notifies you roughly 30 to 60 days before a calibration expires, so coverage never lapses by accident, and each calibration confirms the system is operating within its specified limits. For labs running under ISO-9000 or QS-9000, annual calibration of the test system is typically a requirement — so the calibration cycle is not just good hygiene, it is part of staying audit-ready and keeping CoP results defensible.

Support that gets you running again

When something does need attention, comprehensive Test System Support ships with most Microsys systems for the first year and is renewable thereafter. It covers unlimited telephone and email support, remote support, and on-site support where it is available in your region. Remote support is often the fastest path back to production: a Microsys representative connects directly to the test system over the internet to diagnose an issue, deliver remote training, or install a software upgrade — no waiting for a site visit just to see what is happening. And if a contract has lapsed, Microsys will still help at a reasonable rate, because a stalled line cannot wait on paperwork. Keeping a valid support contract in place is simply the most dependable way to protect the safety and reliability of the system.

Upgrades and training that extend system life

A partnership should make a system better over time, not merely keep it alive. Microsys continually adds features and capabilities, many of them driven by customer needs, and upgrades — software or hardware — typically cost a small fraction of the price of the original system; software upgrades are sometimes installed at no charge during a scheduled calibration. On the people side, most systems come with comprehensive on-site training split between operators and the system manager, delivered hands-on, classroom-style, or both, with refresher and new-operator sessions available whenever your team changes. For more open-ended needs, Microsys is also available on a consulting basis.

Wherever your lab is

Occupant-safety testing happens in every major automotive market, and so does Microsys support. From its head office in Mississauga, Canada, Microsys runs a Worldwide Sales & Support Network with coverage across the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Austria and the wider European market, China, India, Japan, Korea, and Thailand — putting a local point of contact within reach of most installations. Support engineers are available from head office during business hours, and the regional network extends that reach into local markets and time zones.

The result is a service model that treats the test system as what it actually is on a CoP line: critical infrastructure. Calibrated to stay accurate, supported to stay running, upgraded to stay current, and backed in every major automotive region — so the equipment that clears your safety-critical parts is as dependable as the parts you expect it to clear.
